Welcome to www.cdjlawjournal.com. Here we are giving you some guidelines to browse the judgments from www.cdjlawjournal.com.

Read the following guidelines carefully:

Directly we are collecting the CR Marked judgments (Certified for Reporting) from the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts. After getting the CR Marked judgments, we are publishing it in the website.

1. Latest Cases:

Last 30 days pronounced judgments (Date of Decision) will come under this category. You can select Supreme Court of India, any High Court or Tribunals for getting the latest judgments.

You will get the total reported judgments of various courts by 'CDJ' in this page. Default in one page you will get 20 results. This you can convert into 30, 50, 100 number of judgments in one page. For getting more results in one page select the number of records and click "show" button.

All the latest judgments will be without head notes. After the publication of judgments, our Advocates will add the proper Head notes within a short period.

For getting the full text of the Judgment, click on the CDJ Citation. After getting the full text judgment, if you want to take the print out of the judgment or mail the Judgment click the "Print View".

Always use our own navigators, which we have given in our website. Don't use the Internet Explorer navigators (Back, forward button). Please avoid the Internet Explore Navigators for getting the previous page. For getting the previous page, please click "Search Again" button.

2. Advance Search:

(i) CDJ Citation:

If you know our CDJ Citation, please write the Year & Case Number after the selection of the court.

Except CDJ Citation, for all other options select the court first.

(ii) Case No.:

Models:

1106 of 2003

Don't write Writ Petition, Crl. RP., FA, etc., before the Case Nos.

At a time write only one Case No.

(iii) Advocates:

If you know appeared Advocate's name , write the Advocate's name in this column and click "Search" button to get the results.

(iv) Parties:

Don't write the Appellants/Petitioners and Respondents name at the same time in the Parties name column. Either Appellants/Petitioners or Respondents name in the Parties name Column and search.

For Example, Prerana Versus State of Maharashtra, write only Prerana in the Parties Column for getting the result.

(v) Judges:

Write only the Judge's name in the Judges Column.

For Example, Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ariit Pasayat, write only Ariit Pasayat in the Judges Column for getting the result.

For getting a decision decided by Hon'ble Justice Arijit Pasayat in the year 2006, write Arijit Pasayat in the Judges Column, select Year Option and write 2006. And if you want to get Negotiable Instruments Act Judgment decided by Hon'ble Mr. Justice K.T. Thomas, write Thomas in the Judges Column and write Negotiable Instruments Act in the "Search Text in Judgments Column" at the same time and Search. Again if you want to minimize it with section 138, write continuously negotiable instruments act, section 138 in the judgment column.

If you want to get all the judgments decided by Hon'ble Kerala High Court, in a particular year, Select Year Option, write the year and Search.

For getting the judgments in a particular date, kindly type the date as in the format.

If you Know a Land Acquisition Judgment of Madras High Court decided in the year 1980, Select Madras High Court, write 1980 in the year option and write Land Acquisition in the Search text in Judgment and search.

If you want to get the decisions pronounced by Hon'ble Justice Chandrachud of Bombay High Court in between 15th of August, 2006 to 31st of August, 2006. Select High Court of Bombay, write Chandrachud in the Judges Column, and in the Start date write as 15-08-2006 and in the End date, write as 31-08-2006 and Search.

3. Keyword Search Method - I:

You can select Supreme Court of India or any other Courts or All Courts Option for the filtering of the Judgments. With the help of Control key you can select more courts at a time.

Select one option from the Search in Judgment Text only, Party names only, Judges only, after the selection of the Court.

(i) Search in Judgment Text only:

For example:

  1. Negotiable Instruments act, Section 138, Criminal Procedure, Section 482, Director, Liability
  2. Service, Termination, Disciplinary Proceedings
  3. Civil Procedure, Order 21 Rule 90

(Don't write IPC, crpc, cpc etc. Always write Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Procedure etc., in full form)

Keywords should be without spelling mistakes. Use one Comma and only one space in between the keywords.

If you write res judicata in the column it will search from the beginning onwards till the last judgment. Whatever the keywords typing in the column will appear in different colors in full text only and not from the Head notes.

(ii) Search in Party Names only:

For getting a decision Mallamkondu Venkata Ramana Versus Banakathi Obulamma & Others from High Court of Andhra Pradesh. Select High Court of Andhra Pradesh and select "Party Names Only" option and write Mallamkondu, Banakathi and search, you will get the result.

(iii) Search in Judges Name only:

For getting a judgments decided by THE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE P. VISHWANATHA SHETTY, THE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE K. BHAKTHAVATSALA from High Court of Karnataka. Select Karnataka High Court and select "Judges name only" option and write VISHWANATHA SHETTY, BHAKTHAVATSALA and search, you will get the result.

4. Keyword Search Method - II:

You can select Supreme Court of India or any other Courts or All Courts Option for the filtering of the Judgments. With the help of Control key you can select more courts at a time.

Almost all the acts (Central and state) and the important key words we have given in our dictionary in the "keyword I" column. If you start writing of the act or key word in the "keyword I", the dictionary will appear. You can select the act or keyword from there.

For getting dowry death decisions, delivered by Madras High Court in between 1992 to 1993. Select Madras High Court, write dowry death in the Keyword I column and in the start date 01-01-1992 and in the end date 31-12-1993.

5. Citation Search:

Select the Publication, write Year, volume number and Page number. Click search.

6. Year / Month Search:

Select the court. Click any Year to get the judgments decided in that Year.

7. Nominal Index Search:

Select the court. Click any of the alphabets to get the judgments.
