The Kerala High Court on Tuesday (July 21, 2026) directed the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Palarivattom police station to provide protection to the actor-woman of Kumbh Mela fame for a second time.

She had sought police protection after allegedly receiving messages threatening her life, early in June.

Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas had previously set aside the police protection order granted to her since the police had informed the court that she had been unreachable despite repeated attempts to contact her. The court had directed the Ernakulam Central police station to grant her protection if she approached them with a written request.

Subsequently, she requested police protection from the Palarivattom police as she had moved houses. The court was informed that the contact details of a female Assistant Sub Inspector of Police has been provided to the woman in case she needed urgent protection.

The inter-faith marriage of the actor and her husband, Farmaan Khan, had sparked controversy after her father filed a complaint alleging that Mr. Khan had abducted her and that she was a minor at the time of the marriage. The couple has since approached the Madhya Pradesh High Court for bail and other remedies in connection with the allegations levelled against Mr. Khan.
