Justice Bibhu Datta Guru
Born on 7th July 1974 in Bolangir District of Odisha. Did his schooling from Bolangir itself. Took his B.Com degree from Rajendra College, Bolangir and subsequently completed his LL.B. course from Bolangir Law College, Sambalpur University.
Enrolled as an Advocate on 30th January 2000 and started his practice at the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Shifted to Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh on 1st November 2000 i.e. the date of formation of new State which also marked the first day of Chhattisgarh High Court.
In the course of his practice, he has dealt with various branches of law and represented numerous State and Central Institutions. Appeared in the Chhattisgarh High Court in his capacity as a Standing Counsel or Panel Lawyer of Institutions like National Thermal Power Corporation, Union Public Service Commission, Election Commission of India, Airports Authority of India, Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, Bhilai Steel Plant, State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Municipal Corporation Korba, Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Ltd., Naya Raipur Development Authority, Chhattisgarh Warehousing Corporation.
Appointed as an Additional Advocate General of the State of Chhattisgarh on 16th January 2024. Elevated as an Additional Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on 13th August 2024 and as Permanent Judge on 20th April 2026.
